Mr. Kent Jones

jonesAs a child growing up, Mr. Jones loved watching all the martial arts films on television and in the theaters.  Bruce Lee was his hero and the King of all those films.  For Kent, it was more than just the bad guy versus the good guy that drew him to the martial arts.  It was the intricate moves; the punching, blocking, and kicking that happened so fast that it seemed almost impossible to do.

Mr. Jones had great respect for the physical strength and endurance it took to do martial arts.  Being small in stature and wanting to be able to defend himself if ever needed, Kent decided to enroll in the martial arts.  He started training in 1994 at United Studios of Self-Defense until 1999.

Mr. Jones became a student at One Martial Arts in 2000 with Professor Brannon Beliso.  He learned the importance of focus and discipline and how the martial arts can help you have a great life.   Eight years later, Kent has earned the rank of 1st degree black belt and is a full-time instructor at One Martial Arts.  He hope to pass on to our students, the knowledge and importance of focus and discipline; the keys to having a great life.

TJ dela Cruz

tjTeddy Jonathan dela Cruz, III, better known as TJ, was born and raised in San Francisco.  He currently attends Lowell High School.  TJ began his karate training in 1998 with Mr. Joseph Moreno at 360 Degrees Martial Arts.  He learned many valuable life skills such as respect and discipline.  In 1999, he had the privilege to attend Alemany Karate School, where he studied under Grandmaster Rick Alemany and Professor Brannon Beliso.

Today, TJ has earned the rank of 1st degree black belt and is an instructor at One Martial Arts.  The road to becoming a black belt has not always been easy.  He has had to attend three different karate schools along his martial arts journey.  Prior to Professor Beliso opening One Martial Arts, TJ even trained in Professor’s back yard.  He enjoys teaching, as well as being a student.  It takes a lot of hard work, dedication and perseverance but it’s all worth it.  TJ hopes to instill these values in all the students he teaches.
