Positive Mindset
I recently read the alarming statistic that seventy percent of most people’s thoughts are negative. Those who suffer from some form of depression are at ninety percent. To me, this is an epidemic. It is a battle that has to be faced on a very personal level, within ourselves. I manage my negative thinking through the following methods: Exercise, proper nutrition, supplementation (vitamins & Chinese herbs), good sleeping habits and meditation. I have found great success with these methods. I believe the quality of my life is greater because I live by a positive mindset. It is not easy, but well worth the effort. Some days when I am really feeling negative, I chant the mantra, “Fake it until you make it”. I find if I put on a smile and pretend to be happy, soon enough I am back in that positive space. Don’t get me wrong, I honor all my feelings. It is important to embrace and feel everything I am feeling. This is who I am and should never be ignored. I am simply saying this is a great way to get out of a dark place. I believe as long as I never give up and always do my best, positive thoughts will overcome the negative.
